Roads and Trails

Our dedicated team have been hard-at-work clearing and restoring all hiking and MTB trails, as well as game-drive and 4x4 routes for ease of access. Guests are cautioned to be mindful as the roads may be muddy or slippery. Penalties do apply for the recovery or towing of vehicles on the property.

Fishing

Fisherfolk are required to have a fishing permit which can be obtained at Reception. Fishing rules must be adhered to and we ask that all fish be handled with wet hands, and not excessively. Bailiffs are available at the various dams over weekends and during certain hours in the week. Kindly record all fish caught on your permits and hand in to reception at the end of your stay.

Horse-Back Riding

Horse-back riding can be booked at the stables or Reception, though payments and indemnities need to be completed at Reception. This activity is available daily from 09:00. The last ride takes place at 15:00. Bookings are essential.

Holiday Entertainment

We have a fantastic Entertainment programme scheduled for the whole family during the holiday season, please make your way down to the Clubhouse and enjoy the fun!

Guests are advised that the last 9km to Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve, from the turn off along the R36, is a gravel road. Though the day-to-day condition of the road is good and can be travelled with a normal sedan, lack of municipal maintenance and heavy rains means that this stretch of road can deteriorate on occasion.
We encourage our guests to drive carefully and slowly and to make the most of the sweeping views of the rolling hills and beautiful countryside on the way to Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve. For more information on the condition of the road leading up to your visit, kindly be in touch with Reception directly.

We have nice dry bosveld kaggel / braai wood that is of exceptional quality and will make your braai experience much more successful and enjoyable.
The wood bundles are available for purchase at the Doornkop Shop (located next to Reception). Guests are also able to purchase the following materials for their braai during their Doornkop stay:
Blitz - R25
Wood - R45
Matches - R2
Charcoal - R40

In the interest of safety, security and ensuring that only confirmed guests are allowed access to the Resort, you will be required to produce a Reservation Confirmation when checking-in to the Resort.
Check-in time: 16:00 / Check-out time: 10:00

Please do remember that we are situated in a quiet, secluded area, and as such, NO loud noise or music is welcome at any time of the day or night.

Kindly refer to our Fishing Rules and Regulations here for specifics with regards to this activity.

Notice: Please note that our child friendly ponds are currently closed for renovations.
